About the Author

Randy Cross is a longtime franchisee, business operator, and advocate for the franchise model. He built his career by following proven systems rather than inventing his own — first as a franchisee and later as President of the franchisor.

Randy began his journey into franchising in the early 2000s with a simple goal: to build a stable, system-driven business that could provide for his family and endure beyond him. Over more than two decades, he grew and scaled a successful franchise operation by staying on system, focusing on consistency, and leaning into the support structure around him.

His leadership responsibilities eventually expanded beyond his local operation to serve at the franchisor level, while remaining a franchisee at heart. In addition, Randy has been actively involved with the International Franchise Association, serving in advocacy roles and on its Board of Directors, representing franchisees and supporting the protection and advancement of the franchise business model.

Randy’s perspective is shaped not by theory, but by lived experience — as a franchisee, a franchisor leader, and an advocate for an industry that creates opportunity for ordinary people willing to follow a proven process with discipline and humility.

This book reflects that belief.
